Chemopreventive Potential of Phytoestrogens on Hormone-Sensitive Cancer - An Updated Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Hormone-dependent cancers contribute to the majority of cancer deaths in women. Treatment options for hormonal such as breast, endometrial, prostate, and ovarian aim at inhibiting key signalling pathways hormones responsible cell proliferation. Hormonal therapies long run cause musculoskeletal disorders, Disease reoccurrence, drug resistance. There is a need new alternative prevent treat carcinomas. Phytoestrogens, naturally occurring polyphenol have potent effects on due their estrogenic effects. Evidence suggests that phytoestrogens exert apoptotic potential by interfering with steroidogenesis, gene expressions, down-regulation Protein Tyrosine Kinases, Matrix Metalloproteinases. They also act topo-poisons. This review explains mechanisms proliferation evidence from recent clinical studies, meta-analyses, cohort study reports. Phytoestrogens multi-target both preventive treatment properties lines. Combination are more beneficial controlling progression. Hence further research required explore epigenetic tumour suppressor genes which stay an important target research.
